Drifting

If you have have seen any racing movies, you may know the term drifting. It is when you use the back wheels of your car to slide; it kind of like how your car reacts when you quickly break on ice. You may ask why do people insist on driving at high speeds while doing this skill? Well, the answer is for the thrill of course. Drifting can really be dangerous with a real car so many find that drifting an RC car is a great substitute.

Drifting your RC car requires that  your break very hard, so that your rc car will slide sideways around corners and curves. Now anyone can just slam on the breaks but the art of drifting is to do so gracefully without flipping and smashing up the car.  In order to drift properly you will need special drift tires they are specially made with hard-rubber with no tread, which lose traction much
easier than normal tires.

Although it is possible to drift with gas powered rc cars if you have never tried the drifting scene, it it is best to invest a little at first to make sure that this is a hobby that you really  enjoy and if so then you can make a larger investment down the road. This also gives you time to practice and perfect your technique.  Once you conquer the electric radio controlled car, you can upgrade to a gas powered rc car.
